WHERE WE STARTED...
1947Founded by three individuals: Stanley Doran, visually impaired since the seventh grade; Charles W. Medick, a Columbus auto dealer and father of a child who was blind; and Everett R. Steece, an administrator for the then Services for the Blind in Ohio
1950Chartered as a nonprofit organization
1952Property at 625 W. Town St. was purchased for in-residence training and a small office
1963Kennel on Stimmel Road was built, and housed 75 dogs
WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...
1978New wing of building was completed, doubling class capacity
1995Puppy nursery was added to the kennel
2005New administration building was added
2017New kennel at 577 W. Town St. was completed

2024 and beyond!New and improved student suites, a genetics and reproduction building, and other exciting plans in the works!
